We are still able to take players who are interested in being practice players for the 2027 season, where they’ll have access to all our developmental ice and instruction. Please contact us for inquiries regarding your 2017/2018 boys hockey players.

Great Gray Hockey

Great Gray Hockey was borne out of 45 years of shared history - two kids who grew up together playing and competing in everything, hockey included. After high school hockey, our paths diverged: TJ went on to a long playing career, while Eric accepted the end of his own competitive road. But he carried forward what hockey had given him - identity, belonging, and the discipline of setting goals and grinding to achieve them. Between them, they carry the two things every great team needs: talent, and the will to outwork the moment you’re given. Now they’re bringing both to Great Gray AAA - TJ ensuring the excellence in hockey and skill development, Eric running the day-to-day and business side.
Who we are
We started Great Gray Hockey because youth hockey needs more programs that remember the player is a kid first — a kid growing and developing on their own curve, not someone else's. Our approach starts there: age-appropriate development that builds real competitive edge, coaching players to play fast, read the ice, and handle pressure from the opponent, not from a coach or a parent looming over them. We build a culture where players compete hard, sharpen their skills every session, and grow into the best version of themselves on the ice — as hockey players, and as kids.
Why Great Gray Exists
Coaching: AAA hockey training is a service. You’re buying that service. We won’t outsource that service to a volunteer parent and hope that they deliver the type of hockey training and coaching you’re paying for and expecting.
Attention on your Kid: Our decision to launch with two birth years allows us to give you and your kid all of our attention. You’re not a number, you’re not filling out another team, you’re not another person to market swag gear to.
Clarity and Communication: Up front listing of ice hours, games and tournaments. With a smaller program you have a direct line to us as well.
Cost/Affordability: The cost per ice hour will be highly competitive. Less than comparable AAA programs we’ve assessed per ice hour.
Value: High quality coaching, greater attention from our staff and the price of the program coming in below comparable AAA programs we’ve assessed.
Individualized Pre- and Post- Season Assessments: A small set of quantifiable skills will be measured to start and end the season. Results will be part of an end of season wrap up for families to help inform ongoing development and training opportunities.
